Murphy’s Musings - From the Club President

I looked out the window on Sunday morning at 8am, it was raining. I looked at 9am, rain; 10am, driving rain; 11am wind and driving rain. I decided that was it, so I cracked on with some other jobs in the house, the allotment was an unachievable dream.

At 2pm I looked out by chance and saw bright blue sky - not a cloud in sight! Hmm, what to do? I could stay inside as I had started these other jobs. It will be a bit of work to get changed. Should I go or should I stay now? (To misquote The Clash). I went, in what seemed no time at all I was at the allotment and I packed in two hours, I was a happy man.

Speaking can sometimes seem daunting, others at work do it better, and you may feel anxious or when you've done it things have not gone to plan. The outlook now and looking ahead can seem grey and overcast.

At the club there are bright opportunities every meeting to speak in a safe environment. Meeting roles are the patches of blue sky breaking through. A safe way to start to battle any overcast thoughts and beliefs. Get rid of the clouds, see the opportunities, grab a role at the club, and let's hear you speak more. Why? Because we want to hear you.
